Daily Diary

We are excited to announce an amazing new Daily Diary feature that can be used to input daily diary events for children such as nappy changes, sleep times, meals, etc, and shared with parents. This feature is available on both the websuite and in the app.

Here’s how to create a Daily Diary

Daily Diary entries are created in the same way as an observation however these are differentiated by a tag.

Setup – Create Daily Diary tags

From the App

    1. Tap Create
    2. Tap Add tags +
    3. To create a new tag tap Add
    4. Enter your Daily Diary tag name by typing Diary: followed by Breakfast, Lunch, Nappy Change, etc
    5. Tap OK
    6. Repeat to add more than one Daily Diary tag

From the Websuite

    1. Create a new observation or open an existing observation
    2. Click Edit Observation Details
    3. Next to Tags click on the dropdown arrow
    4. Enter your Daily Diary tag name by typing Diary: followed by Breakfast, Lunch, Nappy Change, etc
    5. Click Enter
    6. Repeat to add more than one new Daily Diary tag

The new tag will now be set up on your school’s account and appear for all users to quickly select when creating/ editing a Daily Diary on the websuite or app.

Create a Daily Diary

From the App:

    1. Tap Create
    2. Tap the continue without evidence icon
    3. Tap Tags

    4. Tap on a Diary tag from the list

    5. Use a standard picture such as the one displayed below (right-click to save), or one of your own images to identify daily diaries easily
      TOP TIP: Once this image (or your own image) has been used it will automatically appear for your future Daily Diary entries meaning you won’t have to keep selecting it from your gallery.

    6. Tap Add Notes + and add the child’s first name then tap the back option – (if the Learner name is spelt correctly it should be added automatically at this point – check the learner section under the notes and click “Add Learner +” If necessary)
    7. Set “Parent Share” to YES (see Parent Share Help and Setup at the bottom of this page for more information) parents will receive  a notification that there is new information to view
    8. Close the daily diary and wait for it to upload (a green dot appears in the top left-hand corner)
    9. Refresh your list of observations by swiping the screen down
    10. Reopen the Daily Diary
    11. The diary entry will automatically appear in the Notes field
    12. Add more dairy entries throughout the day by reopening the daily diary and repeating step 2

From the Websuite:

    1. Click Create
    2. Click Edit observation details
    3. Select a diary Tag from the Tags dropdown box

    8. Click Save Changes
    9. Reopen the daily diary
    10. The diary entry will automatically appear in the Notes field
    11. Add more dairy entries throughout the day by reopening the daily diary and repeating step 2

Top Tips: 

    • To add further information to a diary entry such as what a child had for breakfast and how much they ate simply type this information next to the diary entry within the notes field
    • To edit the time of a diary entry simply edit the text within the notes field

 

Parent Share Setup

There are two ways to set up Parent Share so that you can either share information with parents manually or instantly.

Turning ON the Parent Share review process allows you to check information before sharing it with Parents and manually release it at a particular time frame for example at the end of each week, month, term, etc.

Turning OFF the Parent Share review process allows you to instantly share information with parents at the point they are marked for Parent Share.

You can turn ON/ OFF the Parent Share review process at any time by following the below steps:

    1. From the Admin area click on the plus icon  next to Modules
    2. Click on the plus icon  next to Evidence Me
    3. Click Parent Share
    4. Select ON/ OFF
